Austin’s V-Day Meet at Hey Cupcake!
So, I don’t know if I’ve told you all this, but I love the doll community from Austin. Seriously, they’re really cool! I’ve been to two other cities’ meetups, but the meetups in Austin have been by far the most fine. (insert Smoove B reference here) I’m WAY too excited for the next meetup – in the meantime, I think I may call Eno, Septunie, or Cosplaybunny (when she’s done with her work) to hang out sometime. >:3
So, without further hesitation… pictures!
Eno’s Okita Souji

Cosplaybunny’s cute girl :3

Septunie’s

Eno’s Chiwooo~

hellsingmongrel, I think this is your Alucard?

Ruaki’s dolls!

Branchuchan’s Cecil, Minimee, and… Glati!

Eno’s girl, who is wearing the skirt she got from our Christmas party!

Keep on rockin’, Austin group. *thumbs up* :D
YAY! I seriously had so much fun that day. :D And swoot for pictures! Also, I had never heard of Smoove B until now. I spent a good 5 minutes cracking up.
I’m really glad the community here is so active. It’s fun to get out from time to time and mingle with like-minded crazies.
Hahaha, my boyfriend and I just found Smoove B. We seriously want to print out cards and give them to people.
C: Truth – crazy people are my style!! <3 <3
hi i was wondering about these doll sites and the pictures and i was curious what kind of dolls are these? like what name catigory are they in?? (i really like these kind of dolls and want to try and make somelike them)
Hey there!
They’re called Asian Ball Jointed Dolls, ABJD’s, or dollfies for short. :) They’re based off of the German ball jointed dolls made popular by Hans Bellmer.
Here’s a site to show you what they look like: http://www.volksusa.com. They’re crafted in resin; some people use Sculpey or Premo, but there’s a site for these BJD collectors where you can see some of the people who make these dolls’ work: http://www.denofangels.com/forums
